Tom Fitzmorris has been covering the food scene in New Orleans for nearly 50 years. In 1988 he got a call from Mary Ann Connell, wanting to talk to him about a radio food show. In July of that year The Food Show debuted on WSMB radio, and Mary Ann had a show right after that. Six months later these two married, later had two kids, and moved to the country. Mary Ann retired from broadcasting and Tom did nearly 32 years of The Food Show on WSMB amid all the various changes of formats and call letters that followed. In April of 2019 another of Tom’s dreams was realized when Mary Ann joined the show as co-host. A year later the show moved back to AM radio right here on WGSO.
