Rosalind (Roz) Caire Murr comes from deep Southern roots, as for generations, the Caire family has owned and managed Caire & Graugnard Sugar along the Mississippi River.  As a lifelong Greater New Orleans area local, there is rarely a week without celebrations with family & friends. Rosalind’s large extended family promotes many festivities and is a vital part of her life. Mixology is not only a creative outlet for her, it also enhances her family celebrations with a festive flair!

Today, Roz’s guest is Benny Harris, Bartender at Public Service Bar at the NOPSI Hotel. Roz and Benny are making a tropical drink to erase the memories of these cold days by taking us to the islands. Benny and Roz created the Rozzie Colada  The recipe for the drink is 1 1/2 oz of white rum, 1 oz of dark rum, club soda, strawberry rum syrup, coco lopez, pineapple juice, stir all the ingredients except the strawberry syrup (or grenadine) and dark rum.  Pour the strawberry syrup in the bottom of the glass, pour the drink over ice, then top with the dark rum, rim the glass with a lime peel, garnish with strawberry, and enjoy
