Wallis is joined by James Lee, Deputy Sate Director of Americans for Prosperity Louisiana. The nonpartisan libertarian group is all about breaking down barriers, small government, and cutting wasteful spending to give americans the freedom they need to thrive. The two address a state sales tax that doesn’t end for four years but some lawmakers are pushing to extend it for another six years. Plus a proposed infrastructure bill for state roads and bridges which only 6% of the money would actually go toward infrastructure.
It’s not all bad, as there is another bill efforting to end collabrative practice agreements bewteen nurse practioners and doctors. Currently, nurse practitioners in Louisiana are required to have a collaborative practice agreement with a physician, which often involves the nurse practitioner paying a monthly fee to the physician. Lee also list the overwhelming pros of legalizing marijuana in the state.
