Tom Fitzmorris has been covering the food scene in New Orleans for nearly 50 years. Starting out at the Driftwood newspaper at UNO, his first dining column ran in 1972, and it reviewed The Flambeau Room, operated by Peter Sclafani. Tom has written a number of books, most notably Tom Fitzmorris’s New Orleans Food, Hungry Town, and The Lost Restaurants of New Orleans, though The Eat Book, celebrating 30 years of publication, remains a personal favorite.
