Welcome to Maritime Matters with host, Eric Shine!

On tonight’s show Eric talks with USAF Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski, Ret. who grew up in western North Carolina.

Colonel Kwiatkowski joined the United States Air Force in 1983 and served tours in Alaska, Massachusetts, Spain and Italy. The Lt. Colonel later served in communications and political military analysis at the National Security Agency [NSA] and the Pentagon, retiring after 20 years as a Lt Colonel. While at the Pentagon, the Colonel wrote two books relating to air power and US policy in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Since Colonel Kwiatkowski’s retirement in 2003 to Shenandoah County, Virginia, she has spoken out against interventionist foreign policy and written numerous essays and articles, most of which are available at lewrockwell.com. Karen has been featured in several documentaries including the award-winning Why We Fight.

Karen has carried on numerous interviews and has a number of videos on the web.

The Colonel holds advanced degrees from Harvard University, the University of Alaska and a Ph.D. from Catholic University in world politics. She serves as a part-time adjunct faculty at Lord Fairfax Community College. Karen has been with her husband for 39 years, and raise cattle and sheep together.  They have four children and eight grandchildren.
