Putting her toy microphone in her mouth instead of a pacifier, Dr. Daliah Wachs was ready to entertain since diapers. She knew at the age of three she wanted to be a doctor and also an entertainer. She had no idea she would be blending the two later in life. At college age, Dr. Daliah had been offered the opportunity to take on a career in singing and comedy or accept an academic scholarship to UNLV and embark on a medical career. She chose the latter and earned an Honors Degree at UNLV and graduated Cum Laude. She attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno and trained and completed her 4th year at UCLA. She returned to Reno to graduate and then began a three year Family Medicine residency in Las Vegas, which she completed in 2000 as Chief Resident. During her residency she worked as an Emergency Room Physician in Lake Havasu, AZ and as an Urgent Care Physician in Bullhead City, AZ. She then became Board Certified in Family Medicine and immediately opened her practice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Within one year of Dr. Daliah going on air she was syndicated and within two years was named in the top 250 Radio Talk Hosts by Talkers Magazine. Her show then launched on XM Radio. By her third year in broadcasting she was named in the “Top 100 Listened To” radio hosts by Talk Stream Live. Genesis Communmications Network now broadcasts her show worldwide. She is heard on iHeart Radio and multiple affiliates. She has one of the fastest expanding radio shows in the country. Her television work is expanding just as quickly. She’s found on multiple TV appearances including PAWN STARS, where you’ll find her selling and discussing medical history and medical antiques. In Nevada, Dr. Daliah Wachs has owned and operated Integrative Family Medicine for many years. She teaches and performs lectures to groups nationwide in addition to students at Touro University, University of Nevada School of Medicine and UNLV. She was recently awarded the UNLV Honors College Alumni of the Year, and her work with charities include Opportunity Village, Children’s Miracle Network, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, FAST 4 Kids, Good Will and just about any great cause that includes children, animals, people…… The Dr. Daliah Show itself entertains as well as teaches. Tom Fitzmorris has been covering the food scene in New Orleans for nearly 50 years. Starting out at the Driftwood newspaper at UNO, his first dining column ran in 1972, and it reviewed The Flambeau Room, operated by Peter Sclafani. A few years later he realized a dream of talking on the radio right here at WGSO. But in 1988 he got a call from Mary Ann Connell, wanting to talk to him about a radio food show. In July of that year The Food Show debuted on WSMB radio, and Mary Ann had a show right after that. Six months later these two married, had two kids, and moved to the country. Mary Ann retired from broadcasting and Tom did nearly 32 years of The Food Show on WSMB amid all the various changes of formats and call letters that followed. In April of 2019 another of Tom’s dreams was realized when Mary Ann joined the show as co-host. A year later the show moved back to AM radio right here on WGSO. Visit their website nomenu.com and Instagram page, @theneworleansmenu. Tom has written a number of books, most notably Tom Fitzmorris’s New Orleans Food, Hungry Town, and The Lost Restaurants of New Orleans, though The Eat Book, celebrating 30 years of publication, remains a personal favorite. Mary Ann has her own book, about her passion, family life. It’s called The Suzie Homemaker Chronicles, based on a newspaper column she wrote for eight years. She also has a separate podcast called Emmie The Story Lady, on Spotify and all other platforms.

An appointment listen and magnet for new listeners. Daren Streblow’s unique style of observational stand-up comedy has been entertaining hundreds-of-thousands of people throughout the U.S. and around the world since he first stepped on the stage in 1995. Daren headlines churches, fundraisers, corporate functions, and colleges all over North America. He’s a ‘humor opportunist’ who is always looking for the comical side of life and how people live it. He takes topics that everyone can relate to and filters them through his unique lens where connecting A to B leads to a letter in the Greek alphabet or maybe salad dressing. Born in Ely, Minnesota, Daren grew up with a robust imagination. He loved superheroes, which often got him into trouble. He would pin a large “S” on his chest, wrap a dish-towel around his neck, and jump into moving traffic to stop the villainous drivers. Fortunately for him, it always worked. He also found amusement in shooting arrows at neighbor’s houses and occasionally lighting campfires in their basements. He confesses that his mother “wasn’t at her emotional best during those years.” He earned a degree in communications from University of Minnesota, Duluth. At the time, Daren believed he was pursuing a lifelong career in radio, but a strange event changed his direction. Out of the blue, a still small voice told him to be a comedian. Weird. However, Daren says he will tell you all the details if you ask him and he insists there were no drugs involved. In 2011, Daren was given the opportunity to bring his comedy to radio syndication, and 400+ episodes later… the world has never been the same since!

Hosted by Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr, along with “mamas” Teri Netterville and Denise Arthur, American Ground Radio is for anyone who believes there is greatness within each of us – that we can do great things, and that this country can be great again – if we can only focus on what’s working, and how to do more of that, instead of just focusing on what’s broken, and how to fix it. If our country “feels” broken and you feel helpless to do anything about it, but you aren’t ready to become depressed, bitter, or angry, then this is your show.
